The H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej 80th Anniversary Watch
On the Auspicious Occasion of the 80th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on 5 December 2007, the American University Alumni Association (AUA) under Royal Patronage, in cooperation with the Swiss watch brand CIMIER proudly present The H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej 80th Anniversary Watch in praise of His Majesty’s extraordinary dedications to the Thai people. By royal approval, AUA is honoured to enshrine on the watch dial the Phor Por Ror, an abbreviation of His Majesty’s Royal Signature, which is meticulously engraved on a fine gold medallion minted by B.H. Mayer’s Mint – Germany, a world-leading private mint.
All proceeds after deduction of related expenses will go to the Mahidol Adulyadej Foundation in funding the education of students of the Faculty of Medical Science at several universities. Initiated by Thai students returning from their studies in the United States of America, the Mahidol Adulyadej Foundation has the mission to provide scholarships to students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance and to elevate the study of medical science and public health in Thailand as well as to improve other services for public benefits in accordance with HRH Prince Mahidol of Songkhla’s determination.
